Tech Theater 101

Dustin Cross and Ryan Howell have over one hundred combined design credits which include Broadway, Off Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theater, Film, Television and Fashion Week. They are now collaborating with Broadway Method Academy to educate future designers on the tools which they have found useful to ensure success with each design.

In this twelve week course, students will be introduced to set and costume design for performance, exploring theater as a visual medium. Students will develop their ability to think about the physical environment (including clothing) as key components of story-telling. Students will expand their vocabulary for discussing the visual world and work on their collaborative skills. We’ll spend half the semester focusing on costuming and half focusing on scenic design, in an on your feet studio class. The course will culminate in a visual final presentation of a popular musical. Absolutely no experience required.

No previous experience needed.
Ages 13 & Up (Or with pre-approval from the BMA Faculty)
